Biography

Thomas Simon, of ERA Regency Realtors, the third child to Mary Rose and Dr. George Simon, began learning about California real estate, while assisting at his Father’s Dental office, during the 1980’s, when interest rates were high and inflation was abound. Many of his parent’s clients were real estate owners, who needed more help than a Dr’s office visit would provide.

While helping and being a young, curious man, at his parents’ office, Thomas would hear the horror of high interest rates, no equity available and foreclosures. Being a natural Broker, Thomas would ask his Father’s CPA and Realtor patients what they would do, if they were presented with a similar real estate problem. Thomas would collect advice from his Father’s Realtor and CPA patient’s, and then pass that information to those patients who needed the help. And so it began, Thomas’s was carving his path as a California Broker.

As time went by, Thomas decided that a career in California real estate was best, as his advice began to show rewards to his Father’s patients. One day, Thomas recommended to one of his father’s patients that for him to be able to reclaim the equity on his commercial property, he was able to participate in a sale lease back program. The advice was taken, with a pat on Thomas’ head. Who would believe that commercial real estate advice could come from such a young man? The opportunity did not provide immediate returns; however 2 years later, the client was able to sell the investment at a profit, after participating in a sale lease back. Then, that same man walked into Thomas’ Father’s office, said thank you and gave his parents an undisclosed sum to add to Thomas’ savings account.

That was the day I knew I had found something. You know, we all search for “IT.” Well, that day, “IT,” found me. We discovered that “IT;” which serves to help people and have a positive impact on lives.

Time went by, and more and more, Thomas’ Mother and Father ran the Doctor’s office, while Thomas began his California real estate career. One could say, Thomas’ Mother and Father were the physical Doctor’s, while Thomas was the real estate Doctor.

During the late 1990’s, after his Father’s passing, Thomas, a licensed, California Realtor, decided to open a real estate office servicing Orange County, Riverside County and Yorba Linda, California.

For his client’s who are not as familiar with Yorba Linda real estate, Thomas explains:

Yorba Linda is like the day when, as children, we discovered our first rainbow – precious, hidden and mysterious. Yorba Linda holds that same merriment for all whom live, have lived or wish to live here. It’s something one keeps and is happy to pass along, to our children, that which is the knowledge of what is a rainbow.

When I asked Thomas to explain what he meant by his statement concerning Yorba Linda, he said, “Did you know that Yorba Linda has its own redwood Forrest?” Then it made sense, Precious, hidden, mysterious, ‘til this day.

As Thomas’ Yorba Linda real estate office began to grow, he decided to expand into the Orange County real estate market. While at Disneyland, with George Simon, his brother, waiting in line for Space Mountain, he happened to overhear a conversation regarding Orange County real estate. What he heard went something like, “I don’t know what to do with my client’s commercial property; he’s upside down, with no rent payments being made, from 30% of his tenants.” Without a thought, Thomas, said “sale lease back,” the gal looked at him, one year later, they were in business together, servicing the Orange County real estate market. Thomas says:

Like Disneyland, Orange County, offers the big city, in a large, familial setting. There aren’t many California counties one may live and work and truly still call home. Let’s face it; we are in tough economic times right now. Some would say a recession, others would say depression. Regardless, Orange County has a way, just like Disneyland, to bring us back to the memory of what matters most, family, community and happiness. Many Orange County first-time home buyers come back into our offices with permanent smiles. Why, because Orange County brings us back to the same enjoyment we experienced as a child. Community, family and happiness are the big 3 in Orange County, California.

While Thomas’ California real estate office began to expand further into Orange County, Riverside County was on the horizon. With many of his clients in the United States Military and Army and are stationed at March Air Force Base, Riverside is an inviting and safe place to call home. Thomas says:

Riverside County, depending on location, offers a big town feeling in a big city setting. Riverside County has grown tremendously over the last few years, with many Fortune 500 Companies relocating there, and many new construction homes available. Personally, Riverside County holds a soft place in my heart. One of my biggest thrills, in the real estate business, is being able to assist our armed forces, truly, our nation’s brightest assets, with home ownership. There is a common thread amongst our military and army, one that I am proud to be associated with.

In the beginning of 2010, Thomas decided to affiliate himself with ERA Regency Realtors, Art Acosta, and is in the process of acquiring his Broker’s License. Within a year, he will have his own real estate office opened, under the guidance and direction of Art Acosta, the Number 7 Broker in the United States, and the Number 1 Broker in the ERA Franchise, both accolades in terms of the number of real estate transactions completed yearly.

In all, Thomas’s over 20 years of California real estate experience, beginning at his Father’s and Mother’s Doctors office, brings him to present day, where he welcomes new clients with the same happiness and honesty that served him well as a child. Thomas, of ERA Regency Realtors, welcomes you as his real estate client’s, but, more importantly, Thomas welcomes you to his family.
