It’s a small-scale operation for now, but Del and Laura Swafford prefer it that way. They’re small-town folks who don’t like giant offices in huge metropolitan areas.

So they’ve opened Casa Grande Acclaim Realty and are running the business from their rural Casa Grande home while they iron out a lease for office space in town.

They handle foreclosures, short sales, new homes, previously owned homes, land and small commercial properties, and have a partnership with a builder who can help with remodeling. They are designated CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert) and are handling property throughout western Pinal County.

“A lot of people are opting not to sell their homes because they’re upside down (owe more money on the home than its current value),” Del said. “They may want to spruce up their home instead (of selling and buying a new home). I’ve teamed up with a builder to do a lot of remodeling. And a lot of people, when they buy someplace they want some things done to it. We can help them with the remodeling.”

The Swaffords have a combined 23 years of experience in real estate in western Pinal County, with two major franchise real estate companies. Laura is Realtor/owner and Del is broker/owner. They hope to have up to six agents eventually, but don’t plan to get any larger than that.

“That’s as big as we want to be,” Del explained.

“We’re small-town specialists,” Laura added. “The thing we love so much about Casa Grande is it’s a small town, but we’re so close to Phoenix and Tucson. We like being on a smaller scale and having a better quality of life.”

While their office may be on a small scale, their marketing reach is not. They do considerable out-of-state marketing because a lot of people still want to come to Arizona and in some parts of the country where the real estate market has stayed stronger, people still can afford to look at Arizona properties.
